Safety
We evaluate everything we do through the lens of safety. It isn’t just in the big things, but also in the small things. Safety is a part of our culture.
Fun
Feeling safe frees up the space to have FUN - silly fun for our youngest campers at The Village, all the way to adventurous fun for teenagers at Access. Engaging counselors help turn every activity, night event, impromptu dance-off, and meal time into a fun experience that unites cabins together.
Faith
We know that when a camper feels secure and is having a blast it opens up the opportunity for them to ask questions and grow in their faith. Intentional processing is woven into camp in relevant, age-appropriate, and fun ways: Bible study, summer theme, and teachable moments with counselors.
Daily Schedule & Camp Activities
Every day at HCC starts with a delicious family-style breakfast in The Dining Hall! After some cabin time getting ready for the day, it’s camp specific activities until lunch— for example: Your campers may spend the morning canoeing on our five acre lake or dodging blaster fire while playing laser tag. They may learn about God’s creation on one of our engaging nature hikes or embrace their creative side during arts & crafts!
After lunch and a short rest period, campers head to their afternoon activities where they may participate in a number of things from our rock wall to archery! After an hour of action packed activities, campers will have a chance to hangout with their cabin during a structured free time. Free time ends around 6:00 and dinner begins!
Following dinner is many campers’ favorite part of the day— the evening service. Here, campers will experience fun, games, dancing, singing, and age appropriate Bible lessons. Services have a conversational feel and present stories from the Bible, then provide time for campers to ask questions in a small group setting. When small groups have concluded, every camper will enjoy the camp-wide evening activity. From block parties, to carnivals and skit night, it’s always an unforgettable time! Campers head back to their bunkhouses between 9:30 and 10:00 to get ready for bed & Counselors make sure everyone gets the rest they need because they’ll wake up in just a few short hours and do it all over again!
